Our Community
Sanford Place is the community formerly known as Sanford Manor. New ownership took over in February 2025, and the home was renamed as part of a wider commitment to raising the standard of care here.
It is the same building on West 9th Street, in the older part of Sanford, minutes from downtown and the lakefront. What has changed is everything around the residents: leadership, staffing, and the expectation that this is a home first and a facility second.
Sanford Place shares its ownership and its philosophy with two sister communities — Gracious Place here in Sanford, and Just Like Home in Elkhorn, Wisconsin. The idea behind all three is the same: small-scale attention inside a full-service home.

Levels of Care
Health rarely changes on a convenient schedule. Because assisted living, memory care, nursing and three therapy disciplines all sit inside this one building, a bad fall or a hospital stay does not have to end with a move — the room stays, the faces stay, and the level of help quietly adjusts.
For residents who want to keep their own routine and their own room, with someone within reach the moment it is needed — at three in the afternoon or three in the morning.
A registered program for residents living with Alzheimer’s and other forms of dementia, built on the things that steady a difficult day: the same faces, the same order of events, and nobody rushing.
Physical, occupational and speech therapy are delivered here, with nursing on site — so recovery happens down the corridor rather than across town.
Daily Life
Something is on most hours of the day, and joining in is always optional. Sitting out a morning with the paper is a perfectly good way to spend it, and nobody will come and talk you out of it.
A craft table that never gets cleared away, so there is always something half-finished waiting for whoever sits down next.
Records people actually remember, played loud enough that the chairs end up pushed against the wall.
Gentle group movement most mornings. Every exercise has a seated version, and using it is not a lesser option.

Sanford Place has a fixed on-site generator with an AHCA-approved emergency power plan. In a hurricane or outage, air conditioning, refrigeration and life-safety systems keep running, and there is cooled common space for every resident. In Central Florida this is not a small thing — and not every community has it.

Paying for Care
Most families who assume assisted living is beyond them have only ever been quoted private-pay rates. Sanford Place is an approved provider for programs a private-pay-only community cannot accept, and ten of our fifty residences are subsidized outright.
If you don’t know which of these your family qualifies for, that is normal — call and we will work it out with you. And if Sanford Place turns out not to be the right home, we would rather say so and name somewhere that is.

Yes. Sanford Place is the new name for the community previously known as Sanford Manor. The home changed ownership in February 2025 and was renamed. Older directory listings, reviews and citations that refer to “Sanford Manor” are referring to this community.

Yes. Sanford Place is an approved provider for Florida’s Medicaid Assisted Living Waiver and Assistive Care Services, and ten of our fifty residences are designated Optional State Supplementation (OSS) beds. We also accept VA benefits, workers’ compensation and private pay. Many assisted living communities in the area are private-pay only, so it is worth asking before you rule anything out.
Yes. Sanford Place is licensed as an assisted living facility by the Florida Agency for Health Care Administration (AHCA) under license number 4789. The license is current and runs through August 2027.
The community is licensed for 50 residents — 40 private residences and 10 designated Optional State Supplementation beds. It is large enough to offer real services and a full activities program, and small enough that staff know every resident by name.
Private rooms and shared companion rooms. Rooms come furnished, and residents are encouraged to bring their own furniture, photographs and belongings. Availability and monthly rates vary by room type and level of care — call us for what is open right now.

Yes. Our team speaks both English and Spanish, and we are glad to walk Spanish-speaking families through care options and paperwork.
No. Sanford Place holds a resident’s bed during a temporary absence, so a hospital stay or a period of rehabilitation does not mean losing the room and the routine they know.
